You should also check the computer manufacturers website for updates and fixes. I have a Sony Laptop, model PCG-FXA47, which was giving me trouble. It would constantly lock up on me. I ran my registry fix and spyware remover and it found errors, and fixed them. But not the cause of the locking up. I then found the update for this on Sony’s website, and it was a BIOS update. It took me about 5 minutes to download the file, run the software, and update the bios. Problem fixed.

The lesson of this is to always register your computer. The company should send you emails on updates to the hardware and software, and drivers if they come up. But, do not rely entirely on someone else. You need to be proactive in this. It is your computer, so take care of it. Maintaining the registry, keeping the spyware removed, and keeping the computer updated with updates from the website are basic minimums you should be doing to keep the computer operating efficiently.
