Simple way to speed up the programs on your computer
Another simple way to speed up the computer, and the programs being run by the computer is to defragment the computer often. For windows users, just go to start -> programs -> accessories -> system tools -> disk defragmenter. This will run a check of your disk to see if it need to be defragmented. Most likely it will.
What is defragmenting anyway? When you store stuff on your computer, it is stored in fragments. So, when you remove these items, there will be open fragments available for storage of new stuff. You may have a small item that was removed towards the front of the disk (hard drive). When you go to store something else on the computer, it will start placing stuff in the open spots (fragments) it finds. So you can have fragments for a file all over your hardrive. The computer must retrieve all of these fragments before it can load the file. So it just makes natural sense that if all of the fragments were in one location together, it would load the file much quicker.
That is a simple definition of defragmenting, and if you want more information of defragmenting, you can visit the Microsoft Website.
