How To Clear The Documents History
Category: Computer, General Tips
Did you know if someone comes behind you they can see all of the latest documents you were working on and the latest images and videos you were looking at? This can pose a problem to many people. Suppose you are at work doing your resume? I am guessing you would not want the employer or IT guy snooping and finding this information. Here is a way to automatically delete these files.
- Click the start button
- Click the Run button
- Type in regedit
- Find the following: HKey_Current_User \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders
- Double click on recent
- Change this value to C:\RECYCLED
- Now go to the recycle bin, and click on properties
- Check the box that says to remove files immediately.
- Close the recycle bin
- Restart the computer.
Now, when you are done looking at stuff, or doing something, and you really do not want anyone to see, they wont. To be absolutely sure your privacy is intact, you might want to think about erasing your internet tracks as well.
