So you think if you erase address history in Internet Explorer you are safe? Do you think that one simple step can erase your internet tracks? Do you think this will keep people from knowing what you have been looking at? Well, sorry to inform, but there is a lot more you need to do than just erase address history in Internet Explorer.
IE puts many items in temporary folders for quick viewing again. So if you were looking at something accidentally (I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt) , then there is now a record of this. Also, there are constantly cookies being dropped on your computer which leave a trail of where you have been.
Quick story here, a guy at work asked me to set up his Lightscribe DVD burner. In the process, I deleted some files which were not needed, then went into the recycle bin to completely delete them. You would not believe the amount of adult themed content in there, from cookies, to pictures, and even videos. Strange this is this gentlemen is a “Man of God”. I just acted like I never saw it, deleted my files, fixed his system, and gave it back to him. My point is there is a way to completely ghost where you have been.
I use a Internet Track Eraser software program to erase address history in Internet Explorer and all the other junk I look at. And I am not talking about the stuff above. What about looking for your spouse something? Or looking for jobs while at work? Who knows, but either your spouse or the IT Department can find all of this stuff.
