SEO Strategies For Article Writing
If you are a publisher, then it is a good idea to know some seo strategies for article writing. There are many people out there who know a great deal about a product or service, but fail to get their message in front of the right people. Why? They just don’t know the seo side of it. If you can follow the guide below for the right seo strategies for article writing, then you will see an tremendous increase in traffic to you websites.
The first thing is research. This will only take a few minutes, but it is the most important. You need to figure out how people are looking for your product. The best tool I have found is this Keyword Research Tool. You just type in your keywords, and it will give you a list of the variations people are using to find your products. DO NOT stop with the first set of results. Click on one of the words (actually phrases) and it will generate another list with even more targeted words. The goal is to find a very targeted word, with the least amount of competition. Got your word? Good!
Open up another window in your browser. Go to google, and type your keyword as follows: “your keyword”. And, you must use the quotes. This will tell you exactly who you are competing against. The general rule is if it is less than 10,000 results, you can use it. You have a good chance of becoming #1 in the listings.
I personally recommend to go even lower. Usually, there is not much difference in the number of times a keyword is searched, but there could be a big difference in the results. Try to find one less than 1,000 results. So, now you have your keyword for your article. Let’s look at some actual seo strategies for article writing.
This will be for general article writing. Where you publish is entirely up to you. It could be your own blog, Goarticles, ezinearticles, or any other article directory. Or, maybe you are ghost writing for someone. If you are ghost writing, I ask why? Just write your own articles. It is very simple to go to Squido, set up a free site, go to clickbank, find a free product to sell, and write an article about the product and publish it in squidoo. But any way, back to the subject.
Write your article with at least 250 words in it. The closer to 400, the better. And depending on what your topic is will also determine how long your article is. But, keep it short, sweet, and to the point. Don’t forget, people on the internet do not read normally. They scan. Use bullets when possible.
OK, here is the list to follow.
- Must have keyword phrase in title
- Must have keyword phrase in 1st line of article, and BOLD
- Must have keyword phrase in last line of 1st paragraph, and BOLD
- Must have keyword phrase in the very last line of article, BOLD, and made a link (if you are selling something).
- That is it. DO not jam any more than 5 keywords in there. You will be stuffing, and the content of the article will diminish.
There you go. You have done the research and have found a very good keyword for you article. Then, you wrote the article with the steps outlined above. If you can follow these SEO strategies for article writing, you will be that much further along than the rest of the publishers.
