Squidoo Says Hello Yahoo, Good Bye Google
If anyone is making squidoo websites then you should be noticing something right now. The sources of your traffic to your squidoo website is changing. More specifically, you have seen a shift of visitors from Yahoo increasing over the number of visitors from Google.
I had a few squidoo sites that were ranking very high for Google, and then poof, nothing. About a week or two later, the traffic came back but it was from Yahoo. No real difference, I think, although there are definitely more female users of Yahoo than Google.
You should also remember that normally sites that rank very high in Yahoo do not rank as high in Google. Very weird how that is. I mean, I understand there is a difference in the algorithms, but still. The point of this is to keep the squidoo websites in your back pocket when you are looking for the yahoo rankings. It should be in your overall marketing and optimization methods.
Squidoo definitely is a money maker. Whether you use it as a landing page, or a real website, it can help bring traffic into your site. But now that the demographics are changing, you need to research the yahoo visitors and use this to your advantage in your marketing.
