3 Ways Of Contacting Your Customers

Many people in business fail in this area of their business. They might have the information in their hands, but they just don’t follow up. This is leaving money on the table. Just the mere fact you have this contact information means they are ready to receive information about these types of products and services. So here are the 3 main ways to follow up with your customers.

  1. Email - This is the cheapest method of contacting your customers, but also the least effective. There is so many emails in a persons email box during any given day (also referred to as noise) that somehow you must stand out. You pitch must be good enough to get them to click on the link and see what you are talking about. And, research shows that it really is not until the 6th to 7th time they see your products or name that they start to feel comfortable with you and will buy something. That is 7 times!! This is a lot of work for a maybe or for a small chance of converting. But it will work.
  2. Regular mail - This is the most expensive method, as there is a cost with every single piece of mail sent out. There are also costs for printing, and time spent on designing and copywriting. But, it can be highly effective. There are published reports and statistics that say you will convert about 2% - 3% of you mailings. Knowing this, and knowing the profit of your product, you can figure out if this will be a profitable venture for you.
  3. Phone calls - I know, I know, you do not want to be making any calls. But, this is where you can make some serious money. You need to collect the phone numbers (somehow) without upsetting the customer. But, if you can collect them, you can easily make a phone call (for free) and talk to your prospects. You already know the types of products they are looking for , so stick to a service or another product in this area. You are much more likely to convert something if they see how it related to what they are looking for or what they are currently doing. Just speak on what you know and how it works, and more people will buy from that than from a salesman pitch.

Those are 3 good tips on the ways to contact your customers. Each one has its pro’s and con’s, and can all be effective  in it’s own situation. And, if you can combine all three of these in your marketing efforts, you will be very successful in your business.
